Recovery safety

Share information. Do not take risks.

The safest recovery is one coordinated with the owner and local authorities.

If you see a reported bike

  1. Keep your distance and do not confront anyone.
  2. Note the general location, time, direction and visible details.
  3. Send the owner a private sighting through the platform.
  4. Contact local police when theft is suspected; call 911 for immediate danger.

If someone claims a found bike

  1. Compare a private identifying detail that was not published.
  2. Do not share your home address or arrange an isolated meeting.
  3. Use a police station or established bike shop as a safe handoff location.
  4. Bring receipts, photographs or other ownership evidence.
